The Invisible Rainbow

The Invisible Rainbow: A History of Electricity and Life Paperback (2020)

This book reveals the horrifying history of how electricity is destroying our health and it's a fascinating read.

5g is being rolled out across the country, despite growing evidence that it is disruptive to our health, our safety, and the environment. The Invisible Rainbow is the groundbreaking story of electricity as it's never been told before--exposing its very real impact on the biosphere and human health.

Over the last 220 years, society has evolved a universal belief that electricity is 'safe' for humanity and the planet. Scientist and journalist Arthur Firstenberg disrupts this conviction by telling the story of electricity in a way it has never been told before--from an environmental point of view--by detailing the effects that this fundamental societal building block has had on our health and our planet.

In The Invisible Rainbow, Firstenberg traces the history of electricity from the early eighteenth century to the present, making a compelling case that many environmental problems, as well as the major diseases of industrialized civilization--heart disease, diabetes, and cancer--are related to electrical pollution.

Few individuals today are able to grasp the entirety of a scientific subject and present it in a highly engaging manner . . . Firstenberg has done just that with one of the most pressing but neglected problems of our technological age.--BRADLEY JOHNSON, MD, Amen Clinic, San Francisco

This seminal bookwill transform your understanding.of the environmental and health effects of electricity and radio frequencies.

Do jabs make people psychotic?

Like many people discussing the toxic injections known as "vaccinations" over the past five years, I've tended to focus on the physical side effects of the "covid" jabs, like myocarditis or cancer, or the more universal destruction caused by death jabs in general, like autism or SIDS (sudden infant death syndrome).

Autism rates keep rising - What on earth could be causing that? Doctors are baffled. Maybe it's time for an autism vaccine.

But there is a growing field of research into the psychological effects of these injections. As well as destruction of the pineal gland, there is increasing evidence that all "vaccines" but particularly the "covid" ones are causing large scale mental issues.

Here are a couple of examples:

https://www.globalresearch.ca/covid-19-vaccine-induced-psychosis-13-cases-post-vaccine-psychosis-mania-suicide-attempts-that-will-shock-you/5811393

https://www.preprints.org/manuscript/202504.1099/v1

Unfortunately in an increasingly controlled internet, most of the search results that come up when searching for studies linking the covid death jab to psychosis, seem to be either saying that there is no link, or that the injections actually reduce the symptoms of mental disorders. Yeah right.

The modern method of controlling internet content is to bury the real information under hundreds of links to false information.

Once you see the effects of these injections, you can't unsee them, they are everywhere. One of the effects seem to be that jabbed people cannot grasp, even when they have family and friends dying like flies, that the jabs are what is killing them. It's like watching a zombie apocalypse.

5G is toxic

Getting Informed About 5G

Getting Informed About 5G

Most people consider mobile technologies necessary for school, work and household functioning. Arguing against the technologies’ expansion or in favor of their regulation is, therefore, especially challenging. As telecommunications (“telecom”) providers begin mapping their plans to deploy 5G—the fifth generation of wireless infrastructure—concerned citizens who do not want 5G “small cell” sites throughout neighborhoods seek constructive action.

In our zeal for electronic things (and now, wireless devices), we have nearly saturated our environment with man-made electromagnetic radiation (EMR). With the advent of 5G, small cell networks will emit microwave radiation around the clock at largely untested frequencies. Each site’s electronic gear also poses fire and collapse hazards as well as liability, privacy and security issues. If getting informed is the first step toward constructive action, let’s ask: How did we get to 5G? Why do we need it? How will it affect our health? How (or can) we prevent it?

ELECTRIFICATION AND TELECOMMUNICATIONS
People figured out how to generate, store and transmit electricity about two hundred years ago. After a Danish scientist discovered electromagnetism in 1819, electric developments progressed rapidly, radically changing domestic life, creating entertainment industries and allowing speedy international communication. The telegraph arrived in 1844, the telephone in 1875 and the first power plant in 1882. Radio became available in the 1890s. By 1904, you could buy an electric washing machine, and by 1913, a refrigerator.

Government agencies soon began protecting the new industries. In 1934, Congress created the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). FCC regulations clarify that manufacturers may sell electronic products as long as they do not create “harmful interference” with existing radio or TV broadcasts, a definition that has since broadened to include cellular and Internet services. However, the agency’s pro-industry definition of “harmful interference” has never included biological harm, which may be why a 2015 Harvard report called the FCC a “captured agency.”1 Unashamedly, FCC regulations safeguard neither the public nor our environment.

In 1996, Congress passed the industry-friendly Telecommunications Act. Section 704 prohibits municipalities from denying permits to install cellular antennas based on health or environmental concerns. Also in the mid-1990s, to determine whether mobile devices were safe enough to market, engineers filled the head of a two-hundred-and-twenty-pound mannequin with salty fluid, took its temperature and gave it a cell phone for six minutes. Because this dummy’s temperature did not change by two degrees Celsius after six minutes—call this a test of immediate, thermal effects of EMR exposure—the FCC has allowed consumers to buy increasingly powerful mobile devices ever since.2

NON-THERMAL BIOLOGICAL EFFECTS
Human organs—including our brains and hearts—function by intricate electrochemical signals. We depend on these signals to digest food, make decisions and know when to sleep. Even at rest, all of our cells have measurable voltage.

It is astonishing, therefore, that the FCC has never recognized or assessed the non-thermal effects of EMR exposure, including the effects of cumulative or combined exposures or potential effects on pregnant women, infants, children, people with medical implants and wildlife. Thousands of peer-reviewed, scientific studies conducted by other parties now point to adverse biological effects from EMR emitted by mobile devices and the infrastructure they require, including “single and double stranded DNA breaks, immune dysfunction, cognitive processing effects, stress protein synthesis in the brain, altered brain development, sleep and memory disturbances, ADHD, abnormal behavior, sperm dysfunction and brain tumors.”3

One of the most recent studies was a twenty-five million dollar rodent study conducted by the National Institute of Health’s National Toxicology Program, which showed that cell phone radiation increases the risk of brain tumors, heart tumors and DNA damage—and those effects arose from 2G (second-generation) technology first introduced in the 1990s.4 Other new studies link heavy, long-term cell phone use (more than two hours per day for more than fifteen years) with elevated thyroid cancer risk.5,6,7 In the U.S., rates for new thyroid cancer cases have increased 3.1 percent per year over the last decade.7 New research also shows, cautiously, that maternal cell phone use may be associated with shorter pregnancy duration and increased risk for preterm birth.8

In children, screen-time exposure (different from EMR exposure) harms brain development and can lead to addiction, eye problems and aggressive behavior.9 This has not stopped schools from giving tablets to young children and replacing teachers with screens.10 Research also indicates that digital technologies are causing adult attention span to dwindle.11

5G AND THE INTERNET OF THINGS
Alongside the ample evidence of biological harm from wireless technologies, there are mounting problems with security and privacy. Other downsides include the technologies’ exponentially increasing and unsustainable energy demands, toxic waste from the manufacture of electronic devices and significant disruptions of the labor market due to artificial intelligence (AI), with machines making decisions.

Nonetheless, because services that include a wireless component are minimally taxed and regulated (compared to wired services), wireless services are extremely profitable to telecom corporations, and the deployment of more wireless technologies continues apace. Machine-to-machine communication is becoming more widespread as technologies operate via the Internet of Things (IoT). Entertainment, GPS and self-driving vehicles operate through the Cloud, as do a growing number of educational, medical and banking systems. Utilities have also deployed millions of “smart,” wireless transmitting meters to track electricity use.

All of these developments are generating increased data traffic—and according to the telecom industry, more data traffic requires more infrastructure. Promoters of 5G and the IoT tell us that we “need” 5G so that we can download a video in less than ten seconds, receive a message on our phone from a chipped diaper letting us know that our baby needs changing or get messaged by a chipped orange juice carton telling us that it is time to replenish. With 5G and the IoT, a toilet will even be able to analyze stool samples and send the data to your doctor.

Let me unpack what this means for municipalities and households.

THE ROLE OF FIBER OPTICS
Until 2016, businesses and households considered “fiber optics to the premises” as the safest, fastest, most energy-efficient and most secure way to access the Internet. Often encased in protective conduit, fiber optic cables rely on pulsing light on thin strands of glass fiber and carry multiple frequencies for telecommunications. Effectively, fiber cables offer unlimited bandwidth.12 They do not emit radiofrequency (RF) radiation. They also tend to withstand weather catastrophes better than wireless systems.

What the public may not realize is that wireless telecom infrastructure is not entirely wireless. For years, wireless providers have run fiber optic cables from their core network to the large towers that support cellular antennas. To deliver voice, Internet and data wirelessly, fiber optics’ light waves convert data (via a digital electronic process) to RF waves. The system’s “last hop” (from the cell tower to individual, mobile devices) is delivered wirelessly.

In the same way that radio stations pay the FCC a licensing fee for a frequency band on the electromagnetic spectrum, telecom corporations pay the FCC to lease frequencies that deliver their wireless services (voice, Internet and data). In the last few decades, however, the available spectrum has nearly filled up. In the iPhone’s first three and a half years, AT&T alone claimed that its data traffic grew eighty-fold!12 5G technology (which, remember, provides wireless access) combines fiber optics and millimeter RF waves (a previously untapped portion of the spectrum) and cannot operate without fiber optics. The industry views this combination as the only way to create more usable frequencies for our increasing wireless data traffic.

STREAMLINING 5G INFRASTRUCTURE
Beginning in 2016, the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC), a Koch brothers-backed group that is an advocate for industry interests, wrote sample legislation to “streamline” (ease) the buildout of 5G. These bills promote installing fiber optic cables to densely deployed small cell sites on public rights-of-way—such as utility poles and school rooftops—and on federal and state lands (see Figure 1). At the same time, they severely restrict local zoning review requirements for installing telecom facilities, including the distributed antenna systems (DAS) used to provide coverage on campuses, inside large office buildings or in places with large crowds that expect wireless services.

By January 2019, over half of U.S. states had passed ALEC-inspired legislation to streamline 5G’s buildout.13 Two federal Acts passed in 2017-2018—the MOBILE NOW Act and the DIGIT Act—also restrict local authority over installation of telecom infrastructure. Further, the FCC has enacted rules that restrict states’ and municipalities’ ability to use the 1970 National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and the 1966 National Historic Preservation Act in zoning and siting reviews for telecom facilities. Finally, the FCC shortened the time that municipalities have to respond to telecom permit applications from ninety to sixty days.

Taken together, these mandates prohibit municipalities from enacting a moratorium on 5G and small cell site infrastructure. At the same time, they severely restrict the amount of money that a municipality can charge telecom providers for accessing publicly owned rights-of-way. They effectively remove normal zoning requirements such as neighborhood notification and public hearings regarding installation of telecom facilities.14

PUSHBACK BY CITIZENS AND MUNICIPALITIES

A national coalition of nearly one hundred municipalities is suing the FCC, arguing that the FCC lacks the statutory authority to issue such restrictive regulations.15

In addition, California Congresswomen Anna Eshoo and Jackie Speier have introduced House Resolution 530, the Accelerating Wireless Broadband Development by Empowering Local Communities Act of 2019. This legislation would overturn FCC regulations that limit the ability of local governments to regulate the deployment of 5G wireless infrastructure. HR 530 would provide “that certain actions by the Federal Communications Commission shall have no force or effect.”16

SIGNAGE ABOUT RF EMISSIONS

Antennas that emit RF radiation, including 5G small cell sites, must comply with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and FCC safety guidelines.18,19 However, several people familiar with federal regulations told me that telecom service providers’ obligations to follow OSHA and FCC regulations operate entirely by the honor system—there is no OSHA or FCC oversight.

Language in a recent agreement between a city and a telecom provider states that “Caution sign text must specify that a distance of nine feet must be kept from the antenna. . . .The sign will inform the person of the potential for high exposure levels and provide a phone number to call and arrange for power to be removed from the antennas for the duration of work.” There are two things to note with regard to this language. First, such a sign addresses electricians, tree pruners, roofers and others who might work near antennas, but it does not address children playing near a backyard utility pole, pregnant women, people with medical implants or individuals whose offices, bedrooms or kitchens might be within nine feet of said antenna. Second, there is no federal agency with a budget or a staff dedicated to monitoring RF emissions or enforcing protective signage.

Could municipalities “force” telecom corporations to post the notices that OSHA and FCC regulations require? Before telecoms deploy 5G small cell sites, concerned citizens might consider banding together with electricians, tree pruners, roofers and other workers to urge their municipality to insist that telecom providers post signs—readable from a distance—that advise workers to keep at least nine feet from the antenna(s); provide a phone number to call when workers need the antennas turned off so that they can work within levels deemed safe by OSHA; and note the antenna’s frequency and wattage. The goal here is to protect workers before they are exposed to EMR emissions at levels prohibited by OSHA and FCC. Signage might also increase public awareness of the antennas’ EMR emissions.

Even in the absence of any regulations to protect vulnerable groups such as children or pregnant women, requiring signage that alerts workers to EMR emissions should be within a municipality’s legal limits. If a municipality opts not to require signage to protect workers from a telecom provider, that’s an attention-grabbing story.

In 2013, well before 5G, the underwriter A.M. Best Company estimated that two hundred and fifty thousand workers come into close contact with cellular antennas every year. It warned other insurers that at close range, cellular antennas act “essentially as open microwave ovens,” and that health effects in exposed workers “can include eye damage, sterility and cognitive impairments.”20 The president of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW), Edwin Hill, wrote in a September 11, 2013 comment to the FCC, “We believe that many of our members have been exposed to levels of RF radiation in excess of the FCC limits.” Hill further stated, “When there is a hazard, the hazard creator has a duty to warn others against the hazard.”21 He suggested that telecom corporations that are licensed to deploy transmitting antennas should be responsible for ensuring that IBEW members “know the unique physical boundaries at every work location so as not to exceed the referenced RF exposure limits.”

Concerned citizens might also urge their zoning and land use officers to insist that telecom service providers remeasure RF emissions if or when they change the antennas’ RF transmissions—as FCC regulations require—and post these measurements on municipal websites.

BEFORE ACTING, KNOW YOUR TERMS
Communities seeking the option of “fiber-to-the-premises” (FTTP) should be aware that the industry may use this term when they actually will only deliver “fiber-to-the-curb” (FTTC), “fiber-to-the-antenna” (FTTA) or “fiber-to-the-wireless” (FTTW). Telecom providers may also use the term “fixed wireless Internet” to describe connecting fiber to small cell sites.

For safer, more secure and more reliable telecommunications, we need wired infrastructure (fiber or copper) delivered to a wired connection in each premises. To move toward this end, we need to repeal the federal acts and municipal mandates that effectively eliminate local authority over telecom facilities. HB 530 may serve as a model.

BEFORE ACTING, KNOW YOUR LAWS
Recently passed FCC orders, federal acts and state laws that prohibit restrictions on fiber delivered to public rights-of-way and promote wireless service from public rights-of-way to individual users may have other impacts detrimental to community interests. For example, advocating municipally owned fiber-to-the-premises may unintentionally divert public funds to deliver fiber to small cells. Such diversions of public monies would reduce the industry’s costs to build 5G networks.

Some communities may have grants to install power lines, cables and fiber optics underground. If you access these grants, be sure that the fiber is delivered all the way to each building or home.

INTERNATIONAL ACTIONS TO HALT OR DELAY 5G
Internationally, some municipalities and political parties have called for proof of safety before deploying 5G small cell sites. Municipalities that have halted 5G development because of health concerns include Brussels, Belgium; Geneva, Switzerland; a municipality of Rome, Italy; and others.22

In Australia, the Health Australia Party (HAP) has outlined an EMR pollution policy23 that supports initiatives including:

• Adopting the precautionary approach regarding exposure to electromagnetic fields
• Designing, building and wiring buildings so as to reduce exposure to electromagnetic fields
• Requiring that new radiation-emitting technologies, including 5G, be shown to be safe for all members of society before their introduction to the market and rollout across the country
• Requiring all radiation-emitting devices to carry the notice: “This device emits radiofrequency radiation—use with caution”
• Carrying out a public education campaign informing people about safer technology use.

FEDERAL, STATE AND LOCAL ACTIONS
There are a number of actions that you can take right away. First, to prevent the telecom industry from hijacking fiber for 5G, we need to repeal the federal legislation—specifically, the 1996 Telecommunications Act—that deregulated wireless services and separated wireless and wired systems. In addition, petition members of Congress to pass HR 530, which would repeal FCC orders that deny local authority over 5G telecom facilities.

If your state has not yet passed a streamline bill, act quickly to prevent one from passing. If your state has passed a streamline bill, seek to repeal it. At both the state and municipal levels, HR 530 could serve as a model for repealing local legislation that has streamlined deployment of telecom facilities. Congress will also need to allow municipalities to enact moratoria on 5G deployment if they choose. We need legislation that requires firm precautionary due diligence on 4G and 5G engineering and that protects local authority, public health and our environment.

Locally, get your municipality to join the National League of Cities’ efforts to oppose bills that further decrease local authority over telecom facilities. Join with rooftop workers and urge your municipality to insist that telecom providers post warning signs about RF emissions.

At home, maintain (or restore) wired services as long as you can. If you stick with Wi-Fi, learn how to unplug and keep the Wi-Fi off at night for at least twelve hours (see “Get an on-off switch”). It would also be wise to wait at least four years to upgrade any new device or service. Finally, do not allow children access to electronic devices until they have mastered reading, writing and math on paper.

SIDEBARS

GET AN ON-OFF SWITCH
I have heard from many households that when they get Internet service, the provider installs an antenna on their roof that effectively makes it a Wi-Fi hotspot—without the customers’ permission. I have also heard that in some areas, only wireless Internet service is available.

In some instances, if a family turns their Wi-Fi off while they sleep (as many physicians advise), only a repair person from the Internet provider can restore their Internet access. Certainly, every customer should be able to turn off the Wi-Fi at their own home and turn it back on at will. Service providers should be obliged to explain how to do this.

An electrical engineer with a medical implant told me that even when his Internet provider said that his Wi-Fi was shut off, his meters told him that it was on. “Every person deserves the right not to be exposed to EMR. Every household deserves the ability to shut off Wi-Fi with a simple switch,” this engineer says, plainly. “Probably,” he adds, “these rights need FCC and FDA [Food and Drug Administration] mandates.”

Finally, telecom providers should also be obliged to explain how to encrypt Wi-Fi and cell service so that customers can protect their privacy and prevent others from using or eavesdropping on their Wi-Fi.

IMPACT OF ELECTRONIC TECHNOLOGIES ON AGRICULTURE

1. EFFECTS ON POLLINATORS: RF radiation emitted by cellular antennas and devices disrupts pollinators’ cryptochromebased navigation. Cryptochrome is a magnetically sensitive protein (used to determine magnetic north) located in pollinators’ eyes. If it were only pesticides, the Varoa mite or harsh winters that were causing bee colony collapse, we would see ill or dead bees. A hive’s disappearance signals a navigational issue.24

2. TOXIC WASTE: The ores (such as cobalt, copper, lithium and quartz) used in electronics require washing that takes water from farms and generates toxic waste that further hinders farming.25,26 Cooling systems used by data centers also require water (that can’t go to farmers). In 2014, the National Security Administration’s Utah data center consumed 1.7 million gallons of water per day.

3. LOSS OF FARMLAND: To maintain our electricity-dependent lifestyles, solar and wind “farms” now cover what had been farmland.

4. LOSS OF KNOW-HOW: Using artificial intelligence (AI), computer-laden tractors now can determine a parcel of land’s mineral and moisture content, expected weather and the seed, herbicide, pesticide and fungicide needed to yield the most lucrative harvest. Overreliance on AI for these metrics will ultimately deprive farmers of the innate and experience-driven know-how they have traditionally possessed.27 In addition, the tractor’s computers require electricity-reliant wireless access networks, which in turn transmit EMR that disrupts pollinators’ navigation.

5. WEATHER: According to scientists from NASA and other agencies, 5G operations in the 24 gigahertz (GHz) band could interfere with weather forecasting. This is because scientists can only measure water vapor accurately in the 23.6–24 GHz band; adjacent commercial operations in this band “will result in a partial-to-complete loss of remotely sensed water vapor measurements.”28 By and large, weather forecasters welcome 5G, but not in the 24 GHz band.

The Wellness Company exposed

In this fascinating podcast, "Amazing Polly" not only exposed "The Wellness Company" as a deep state gatekeeper that is funding much of the alternative health media, but in doing so she also exposed many of the people they are funding.

So many supposedly "alternative" doctors and commentators are essentially shills who carefully control all their content to fit the approved narratives. It is safe to say they were not exposing germ theory in 2020, but they are certainly promoting fear (and selling more supplements) right now.

Monsanto Causes Worldwide Infertility

Is Monsanto Promoting Worldwide Infertility? –  Academic GMO Shills Exposed: Fraud And Collusion With Monsanto

Monsanto has a long and infamous history of manufacturing and bringing to market such chemicals as DDT, Agent Orange, aspartame, Roundup and dioxin – chemical compounds from which society continues to feel the effects.

In an effort to distance the current corporation from past deeds, Monsanto refers to the company prior to 2002 as “the former Monsanto” in their news releases. However, nothing has really changed aside from their PR machine.

While Monsanto has branched into genetic engineering (GE) of plants, the sale of patented GE seeds simply feeds the need for the company’s pesticides. Monsanto is STILL primarily a purveyor of toxins, not life.

Monsanto began forging a unique and financially advantageous relationship with the U.S. government starting with the company’s involvement in the Manhattan Project that produced the first nuclear weapons during World War II. During the Vietnam War they were the leading producer of Agent Orange.

The specialization in the production and distribution of toxic chemicals continues today.

Their influence over government runs so deep that despite the fact 64 other countries have been labeling genetically engineered (GE) foods for years, the U.S. now has the distinction of being the first country to un-label GE foods at the urging of a company producing mass amounts of GE seeds.

Monsanto and Polychlorinated Biphenyls (PCBs)

In the latter part of the 1920s, Monsanto was the largest producer of PCBs. This chemical was used in lubricant for electric motors, hydraulic fluids and to insulate electrical equipment. Old fluorescent light fixtures and electrical appliances with PCB capacitors may still contain the chemical.

During the years PCB was manufactured and used, there were no controls placed on disposal. Since PCBs don’t break down under many conditions, they are now widely distributed through the environment and have made the journey up the food chain.

Between the inception and distribution of the product and its subsequent ban in the late 1970s, an estimated 1.5 billion pounds were distributed in products around the world.

Monsanto was the primary manufacturer of PCBs in the U.S. under the trade name Aroclor. Health problems associated with exposure to the chemical were noted as early as 1933 when 23 of 24 workers at the production plant developed pustules, loss of energy and appetite, loss of libido and other skin disturbances.

According to Monsanto’s public timeline, it was in 1966 that “Monsanto and others began to study PCB persistence in the environment.” However, seven years earlier, Monsanto’s assistant director of their Medical Department wrote:

“Sufficient exposure, whether by inhalation of vapors or skin contact, can result in chloracne which I think we must assume could be an indication of a more systemic injury if the exposure were allowed to continue.”

In 1967, Shell Oil called to inform Monsanto of press reports from Sweden, noting that PCBs were accumulating in mammals further up the food chain. Shell asked for PCB samples to perform their own analytical studies.

With full knowledge of the devastation expected to the environment and humanity, it wasn’t until 11 years later, in 1977, that Monsanto reportedly pulled production on PCB.

PCBs Are Probable Human Carcinogens

The International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC), the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the National Toxicology Program, and the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIEHS) have identified PCBs as either probable, potential or reasonably likely to cause cancer in humans.

If it seems like these agencies are couching their words, they are. Human studies have noted increased rates of liver cancer, gall bladder cancer, melanomas, gastrointestinal cancer, biliary tract cancer, brain cancer and breast cancer when individuals had higher levels of PCB chemicals in their blood and tissue.

However, the EPA limits the ability of researchers to link a chemical as a carcinogen unless there is conclusive proof. While this proof is evident in animal studies, you can’t feed these chemicals to humans and record the results. Thus PCBs are a “probable” carcinogen in humans.

Other health effects from PCBs include:

Babies born with neurological and motor control delays including lower IQ, poor short-term memory and poor performance on standardized behavioral assessment tests

Disrupted sex hormones including shortened menstrual cycles, reduced sperm count and premature puberty

Imbalanced thyroid hormone affecting growth, intellectual and behavioral development

Immune effects, including children with more ear infections and chickenpox

Once PCBs are absorbed in the body they deposit in the fat tissue. They are not broken down or excreted. This means the number of PCBs build over time and move up the food chain. Smaller fish are eaten by larger ones and eventually land on your dinner table.

Chemical Poisoning Begins Before Birth

A recent study at the University of California demonstrated that PCBs are found in the blood of pregnant women. Before birth, the umbilical cord delivers approximately 300 quarts of blood to your baby every day.

Not long ago, researchers believed the placenta would shield your developing baby from most pollutants and chemicals. Now we know it does not.

The umbilical cord is a lifeline between mother and child, sustaining life and propelling growth. However, in recent research cord blood contained between 200 and 280 different chemicals; 180 were known carcinogens and 217 were toxic to the baby’s developing nervous system.

The deposits of chemicals in your body or the body of your developing baby are called your “body burden” of chemicals and pollution.

A steady stream of chemicals from the environment during a critical time of organ and system development has a significant impact on the health of your child, both in infancy and as the child grows to adulthood.

Tracey Woodruff, Ph.D., director of the University of California San Francisco Program on Reproductive Health and the Environment, was quoted in a press release, saying:

“It was surprising and concerning to find so many chemicals in pregnant women without fully knowing the implications for pregnancy. Several of these chemicals in pregnant women were at the same concentrations that have been associated with negative effects in children from other studies.

In addition, exposure to multiple chemicals that can increase the risk of the same adverse health outcome can have a greater impact than exposure to just one chemical.”

Butyl Benzyl Phthalate – Another Monsanto Product

Butyl benzyl phthalate (BBP), also manufactured by Monsanto, was recently implicated in cell fat storage. This specific phthalate was found in human fluids and had an effect on the accumulation of fat inside cells.

BBP is used in the manufacture of vinyl tile, as a plasticizer in PVC pipe, carpets, conveyer belts and weather stripping in your home and office.

Like other phthalates used in the production of plastics, BBP is not bound to the product and can be released into your environment. It may be absorbed by crops and move up the food chain. The biggest source of exposure is food.

Drive-through hamburgers and take-out pizzas may be increasing your intake of phthalates. The danger is not in the food itself but in the products used to handle it. The study analyzed data from nearly 9,000 individuals, finding the one-third who had eaten at a fast food restaurant had higher levels of two different phthalates.

Potentially, BBP may adversely affect your reproductive function. However, at lower doses it also has an effect on your kidneys, liver and pancreas. Increased risks of respiratory disorders and multiple myelomas have also been reported in people who have exposure to products manufactured with BBP. An increasing waistline from BBP exposure may also reduce your fertility.

Low Sperm Count and Infertility Affecting Animals and Humans

A 26-year study of fertility in dogs, published recently, has distinct similarities to infertility rates in humans. In this study, researchers evaluated the ejaculate of nearly 2,000 dogs. Over the 26 year period, they found a drop in sperm motility of 2.4 percent per year.

Additionally, both the semen and the testicles of castrated dogs contained by PCBs and phthalates, implicated in other studies to reduction in fertility. Phthalates have been implicated in both decreased sperm motility and quality of your sperm, affecting both fertility and the health of your children.

Researchers used dogs in this study as they live in the same environment as their owners, and often eat some of the same food. This correlation between sperm function and concentration, and environment and food in dogs and humans is significant.

In those 26 years there was also a rise in cryptorchidism in male pups (a condition where the testicles don’t descend into the scrotum) born to stud dogs who experienced a decline in sperm quality and motility.

Cryptorchidism and undescended testicles, occurs at a rate of 1 in 20 term male human infants and 1 in 3 pre-term babies.

Problems with infertility are also affecting marine animals at the top of the food chain. In the western waters of the Atlantic, the last pod of Orcas are doomed to extinction. High levels of PCB have been found in the fat of over 1,000 dolphins and Orcas in the past 20 years. Now taking a toll on the animal’s fertility, this pod of Orcas has not reproduced in the 19 years it has been under study.

Orcas were living in the North Sea until the 1960s. At that time PCB pollution peaked in the area and the Orca whales disappeared. The same happened in the Mediterranean Sea, where the whales flourished until the 1980s. This pod off the coast of the U.K. is the last living pod in that area.

Monsanto’s Argument in PCB Lawsuits

Although Monsanto denies culpability and knowledge of the danger behind the chemical PCB, you’ll discover internal documentation in this video that they did, in fact, know of the danger while manufacturing and distributing the product. Monsanto is currently embroiled in several lawsuits across eight cities and the argument is over who owns the rain. The cities are suing Monsanto in Federal Court, saying PCBs manufactured by Monsanto have polluted the San Francisco Bay.

Monsanto attorney Robert Howard argues that because the city does not own the water rights, the city does not have the right to sue. And, because the PCBs have not damaged city property, such as corroding pipes, Howard claims it is a state problem. Scott Fiske, attorney for three cities, countered with the city’s regulatory interests in management of storm water as a fundamental function of the city.

While Fiske claims he can prove Monsanto knew the product was hazardous as early as 1969, Howard maintains the company should not be liable for the use of the chemicals it produced.

In 2001, Monsanto attorneys in the Owens v. Monsanto case, acknowledged only one health threat from exposure to PCBs: chloracne, and instead argued that since the entire planet has been contaminated, they are innocent of all liability. The attorney for Monsanto was quoted in the Chemical Industry Archives, saying:

“The truth is that PCBs are everywhere. They are in meat, they are in everyone in the courtroom, they are everywhere and they have been for a long time, along with a host of other substances.”

The cities currently engaged in lawsuits against Monsanto for damage to the environment and waterways include Berkley, Oakland, San Jose, Portland, Spokane, Seattle, Long Beach and San Diego. All eight cities attempted to combine their cases against the agrochemical giant but were unsuccessful when one judge found the issues were different enough to warrant separate cases.

Monsanto’s Deep Pockets

Monsanto petitioned the Federal Court to dismiss Portland’s lawsuit, claiming it would countersue, adding years to the process. It is likely Monsanto would increase the scope of the case and include companies who used the product and released the PCBs.

Meanwhile, three plaintiffs in St. Louis received better news in May 2016 when a jury awarded them a total of $46.5 million, finding Monsanto negligent in the production of PCBs.

This suit claimed Monsanto sold PCBs even after it learned about the dangers, bringing to court internal documents dated 1955, which stated: “We know Aroclors [PCBs] are toxic but the actual limit has not been precisely defined.”33 To date this win over Monsanto has been rare. Williams Kherkher, attorney for the plaintiffs, explained in EcoWatch:

“The only reason why this victory is rare is because no one has had the money to fight Monsanto.”

Kherkher and other firms pooled their resources in this case and expect wins in upcoming lawsuits. The firm has accumulated the names of approximately 1,000 plaintiffs with claims against Monsanto and PCBs.

SAD NEWS: House Passes DARK Act Compromise

The House passed a compromise to the DARK Act that will force food distributors to disclose the presence of genetically engineered (GE) ingredients with a smartphone scan code. President Obama has signed the bill that removes states’ rights for labeling GMOs. The bill is full of loopholes, which may allow genetically modified ingredients to slip through unannounced.

Genetically modified organisms (GMOs), aka GE foods, are live organisms whose genetic components have been artificially manipulated in a laboratory setting through creating unstable combinations of plant, animal, bacteria and even viral genes that do not occur in nature or through traditional crossbreeding methods.

GMO proponents claim that genetic engineering is “safe and beneficial,” and that it advances the agricultural industry. They also say that GMOs help ensure the global food supply and sustainability.

But is there any truth to these claims? I believe not. For years, I’ve stated the belief that GMOs pose one of the greatest threats to life on the planet. Genetic engineering is NOT the safe and beneficial technology that it is touted to be.

The FDA cleared the way for GE Atlantic salmon to be farmed for human consumption. Thanks to added language in the federal spending bill, the product will require special labeling so at least consumers will have the ability to identify the GE salmon in stores. However, it’s imperative ALL GE foods be labeled clearly without a smartphone scan code because not everyone owns a smartphone.

The FDA is threatening the existence of our food supply. We have to start taking action now. I urge you to share this article with friends and family. If we act together, we can make a difference and put an end to the absurdity.

Boycott Smart Labels Today

When you see the QR code or so-called Smart Label on a food product, pass it by. Products bearing the Grocery Manufacturer’s Association’s (GMA) Smart Label mark are in all likelihood filled with pesticides and/or GMO ingredients.

The GMA’s 300-plus members include chemical technology companies, GE seed and food and beverage companies. Monsanto, Dow and Coca-Cola are just some of the heavy-hitters in this powerful industry group, which has showed no qualms about doing whatever it takes to protect the interest of its members.

Don’t waste your time searching through their website, which may or may not contain the information you’re looking for. If they insist on wasting your time and making your shopping difficult, why reward them with a purchase?

A little known fact is that the GMA actually owns the “Smart Label” trademark that Congress has accepted as a so-called “compromise” to on-package GMO labeling, and that’s another reason why I believe the Smart Label mark is the mark of those with something to hide, such as Monsanto.

Will you financially support a corrupt, toxic and unsustainable food system, or a healthy, regenerative one? There are many options available besides big-brand processed foods that are part of the “GMA’s verified ring of deception.”

You can:

Shop at local farms and farmers markets

Only buy products marked either “USDA 100 percent Organic” (which by law cannot contain GMOs), “100 percent Grass-Fed” or “Non-GMO Verified”

If you have a smartphone and you don’t mind using it, download the OCA’s Buycott app to quickly and easily identify the thousands of proprietary brands belonging to GMA members, so you can avoid them, as well as identify the names of ethical brands that deserve your patronage
Last but not least, encourage good companies to reject QR codes and to be transparent and clear with their labeling. This will eventually ensure that all GMO foods can easily be identified by the GMA’s “verified ring of deception” mark that is the Smart Label.

Campbell’s, Mars, Kellogg’s, ConAgra and General Mills all vowed to voluntarily comply with Vermont’s GMO labeling law by labeling all of their foods sold across the U.S.

Will their plans change now that the law has been passed by Congress and signed by the President? That remains to be seen, but if you like these companies, I would encourage you to reach out to them and ask them to remain steadfast in their promise.

Few corporations in the world are as loathed – and as sinister – as Monsanto. But the threat it poses to people and planet could be reaching new heights, as the World Health Organization has recently upgraded Monsanto’s main product as carcinogenic to humans. With protests against the agrochemical giant held in more than 40 countries in May, learn why the global movement against Monsanto is of critical importance to our future.

In this episode of The Empire Files, Abby Martin issues a scathing expose on the corporate polluter, chronicling it’s rise to power, the collusion of its crimes by the US government and highlighting the serious danger it puts us in today.

Academic GMO Shills Exposed: Once-Secret Emails Reveal Gross Collusion With Monsanto, Academic Fraud At The Highest Levels Inside U.S. Universities

U.S. Right to Know (USRTK), a non-profit organization dedicated to exposing the fraud and corruption surrounding the food industry, launched an investigation into the intimate and unethical relationship between the biotech industry and university faculty and staff, which is used to manipulate public opinion about GMOs and to coerce the government into passing legislation supportive of Big Ag’s patented seeds and pesticides.

The investigation, which is still ongoing, reveals how biotech industry giants Monsanto, DuPont, Syngenta, Dow AgroSciences and others, buy academics employed by taxpayer-funded universities to push GMOs and lobby Congress to pass legislation favorable of their products, with one of the most high-profile examples including attempts to derail states’ rights to enact GMO-labeling laws.

The collusion between Big Food, its front groups and university staff has been exposed through thousands of emails and documents obtained through a USRTK Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request, which was meticulously filed over a six-month period.

USRTK: Public deserves to know about flow of money and level of coordination between Big Ag and public university scientists

The FOIA request sought to obtain emails and documents from 43 public university faculty and staff to learn more about the biotech industry’s public relations strategies. Records were requested from scientists, economists, law professors, extension specialists and communicators, all of whom are employed by taxpayer-funded public institutions and steadily promote GMO agriculture under the “independent” research.

Currently, USRTK has received thousands of documents in nine of their requests; however, much more information is expected to be released as FOIA requests continue to be answered.

The documents received thus far expose how the biotech industry funds expenses for university faculty to travel the globe promoting and defending GMOs and their associated pesticides, highlighting the shift that scientists have made from being researchers to being actors in Big Ag PR campaigns.

Named the “Biofortified boys” by Alicia Maluafiti, executive director of Hawaii Crop Improvement Association (HCIA), a biotech front group, the academics were awarded thousands, and in some cases, hundreds of thousands of dollars in unrestricted grant money.

Dr. Kevin Folta, professor and chairman of the Horticultural Sciences Department at the University of Florida, Gainesville, is one of the biotech industry’s most cooperative “Biofortified boys.” Emails show that Folta was enlisted to travel to Hawaii and later to Pennsylvania to “testify to government bodies to oppose proposed mandatory genetically modified labeling measures.”

Folta has repeatedly denied ties to Monsanto or having accepted funds from them; however, newly released documents prove otherwise, exposing him as a bald-faced liar and attack dog for the biotech industry.

Sponsored and organized by the HCIA, which includes Monsanto, DuPont, Dow AgroSciences, Syngenta and BASF, Folta and others were recruited to meet with local business execs to lobby against Hawaii’s proposed GMO-labeling law.

HCIA’s Maluafiti writes:

“So please know that you are part of our overall public education strategy and specifically – how do we use your valuable time wisely while you are here in Hawaii (besides hitting the beaches!) I’d love to hear your thoughts. Aloha!

A second email authored by Renee Kester, wife of Dow AgroSciences R&D Leader Kirby Kester, who is also president of the HCIA, thanks them for their support:

“First off I would like to thank you for all of the support you have given us over here in Hawaii with regards to our recent legislative battles, it means a lot to all of us over here.

Monsanto asks academics to author articles promoting GMOs

In an effort to influence “thought leaders and influencers,” Monsanto reached out to Dr. Folta and other academics, asking them to author a series of pro-GMO policy briefs to be used for “outreach and engagement with policy makers and consumers.” The briefs were to be promoted as being authored by “independent scientists.

Eric Sachs, the chief of Monsanto’s global scientific affairs group wrote:

“The key to success is participation by all of you – recognized experts and leaders with the knowledge, reputation and communication experience needed to communicate authoritatively to the target groups.”

“You represent an elite group whose credibility will be strengthened by working together.

Recognizing participants’ careers are at stake, Sachs offers the academics assurance by promising that he will protect their “independence,” as well as their reputations.

Some of the topics the academics were asked to write on include:

Meeting World Challenges (discuss how GMOs will save the world by addressing shrinking agricultural resources, food security, food affordability and environmental sustainability).

Stifling Innovation (discuss how GM crop regulations stifle technological advancements and prevent GMOs from improving overall quality of life).

Holding Activists Accountable – assigned to Kevin Folta (discuss how anti-GMO activist campaigns spread false information and if left unchallenged will limit consumer choice, increase food prices, decrease farmer viability and undermine global food security).

GM Crop Safety (address consumer and policy maker concerns that GM crops aren’t tested for safety, convince public that they are proven safe).

Consequences of Rejecting GM Crops (address public health fears and political resistance and concerns about biodiversity and biological safety and intellectual property rights that create barriers to GM acceptance).

Sustainable Crop Systems (discuss how GM crop technology provides environmental benefits, increases yields and improves productivity).

Responsible Choice (highlight the role GM crop technology plays in ensuring increase production and how it balances our needs for food, feed, fiber and fuel). Academics were asked to include a “call to action,” which would be used in the briefs to influence the public on a variety of platforms including social media, blogs, websites and allied organizations.

Montano enlists university scientists to pressure EPA to abandon proposed pesticide regulations

Documents reveal that Monsanto also used academics to put pressure on regulatory agencies like the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) – in one instance pressuring the EPA to abandon its proposal to tighten regulations regarding pesticide use on insect-resistant crops.

“Is there a coordinated plan to maintain pressure and emphasis on EPA’s evolving regulations?” asked Sachs in an email to Dr. Bruce Chassy, a professor emeritus at the University of Illinois at Urbana – Champaign.

Sachs continued, “Have you considered having a small group of scientists request a meeting with Lisa Jackson [referring to the EPA’s administrator at the time]?”

With the help of an industry lobbyist, Chassy was eventually able to set up a meeting with Jackson, after which the agency’s proposal was ultimately dropped.

Stay tuned for more as Natural News continues to dissect documents exposing the incestuous relationship between the biotech industry and university scientists.
